• Our firm was founded in 1955 in Pontiac Michigan by Teddy R. Bowes. He was my grandfather.
• My Father, William D. Bowes, joined Teddy in 1957 when returning from service in the Marine Corp.
• I joined my Father in 1985 after completing my degree studies in Texas at LeTourneau University and The University of Texas. I gained my CPA certification in 1986
• I worked for a multi-office firm based in Kilgore Texas from 1981 through 1985.
• Our firm has been in continuous operation in Pontiac Michigan now for 65 years.
• We specialize in bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll services for small to medium-size businesses of various industries. No particular speciality business. We also provide tax services for individuals, trusts, estates, LLC's, and corporations. We also offer financial consulting.
• Our services are personalized with high attention to detail and accuracy. We are not a volume-oriented operation, but rather focus on the quality of work and attention to personal details.

For decades beginning in 1955, Bowes Accounting and Tax Service operating as J.A. Bowes CPA, P.C. currently, has been providing our varied client base with personal and business financial advisory service as well as bookkeeping, payroll processing and reporting, accounting, agreed upon services, and personal, business, estate, and trust tax planning and preparation. Historically we have offered high quality personalized services ranging from basic tax services to services related to more complex situations.

Because Bowes Accounting and Tax Service has operated in the local Oakland County area since 1955 and from the same location since 1958, we enjoy a well recognized operation with the community and our long term clients. Many clients have been with us since the 1960’s. We are always thankful for the blessed relationships we have had over the years.
